Recession in the Second Quarter

In light of the fully-released April, May and partly-released June leading indicators, we expect the Turkish economy to shrink by 0.5 percent in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the same quarter of the previous year. According to seasonal and calendar-adjusted data, we forecast quarter-on-quarter GDP decline to be 0.6 percent.
