During this period, sizable increases in female labor force participation ratios are observed in the data. Even though female labor force participation rates increase drastically at lower education levels, i.e. for women without a college degree, the gender gap in unemployment rates stay stagnant. Yet, the state of affairs at the high education level is different. The gender gap in unemployment at this level widened, particularly in the age group of 20-29.
